The Villa Poppaea is an ancient Roman seaside villa situated in the ancient Roman town of Oplontis.
It was buried in the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, like the nearby cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii. It was owned by the Emperor Nero and his second wife Poppaea Sabina and it was used as her residence when she was away from Rome. Its frescos are among the best preserved in the whole founding of that period.
An amazing wine tasting in the area will follow the visit with lunch included.
