The night of the Bonfires is a cultural folkloristic event that takes place in Nusco, Irpinia, the third weekend of January each year, on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of Sant'Antonio Abate. During this week-end, Campania lights up with the many bonfires that are lit to celebrate "Sant'Antonio", protector of animals and blessed of fire. The program of the oldest festival in Irpinia includes, in addition to the bonfire ritual, shows, folk music, itinerant dances, artistic performances and l promotion and tasting of typical products and local wines. .
The aim of the event is to transform the Historic Center into a large food and wine, craft and music fair, taking a real journey into the world of popular tradition, with shows and street artists along the alleys of the ancient village. The organisation of the event also includes the development of a territorial promotion activity linked to the "preservation of identity and cultural values that contribute to nourishing the genuineness and typicality of Irpinia". For this reason the commercial operators will offer to the visitors products based on the promotion and valorisation of the local resources typical of Irpinia and the preparation of typical recipes made on the spot with local products .
Before the event , we will offer a rich aperitif at our friend Antonia
